This is a persuasive essay rubric that I created using rubistar. Rubrics can be created to grade different assignments based on a point system. The rubric I designed grades middle school students on the persuasive essay: Should students be allowed to use laptops in middle school classrooms?
The teacher then grades the paper on the thesis statement, evidence and exaples, transititions, and closing paragraphs. Many other categories can be used, these are just a few. Then, the teacher can use the discriptions under each number to score the paper based on each category.
